Saturday, Adam told me that it was my choice as of what we did that day. I searched and searched to find the best thing we could do. I decided that a picnic by a lake and then a little swim afterwards would be so fun! So I wrote down the address to the ranger station there, we packed our lunch and we took off. We drove to the address, which happened to be the ranger station in Mesa, not even close to this lake.
Wrong turn number one.
I knew the general direction so we headed back to interstate. We weren't 100% sure which exit to take. We passed an exit that we thought might be the one, but it was too close I thought so we kept driving. Well about 15 minutes down the road, signs told us that the interstate was ending in 2 miles. Oh great.
Wrong turn number two.
We turned back around to the exit we thought might have been the one we needed to take. After we got off that exit, we found signs to another lake. I figured we might as well just follow those signs because neither of us knew where we were and our GPS wouldn't pick anything up. While we drove, we decided to just enjoy the scenery. Neither of us have lived in the desert before (unless you count Rexburg, Idaho), so we liked seeing all the different cactus. We eventually found the lake. But all signs told us that we had to have some parking pass. We had no idea where to get this pass. Then we saw a sign that said no pets by the lake. Of course, we brought Reggie with us.
Wrong turn number three.
After all that, we decided to just find a picnic table and eat our lunch before the long drive back. So we didn't get to go swimming at all. But we did get to eat our lunch. We enjoyed the time we had to talk and just be together, so I guess it wasn't all bad. :) And I got some good pictures along the way!
