Daxton is still in our room in a bassinet. I know, I know, everyone (meaning my mom and Adam) has been telling me that we need to put him in his own room now. They say it's time. They say he's too big to keep in
our room. They say I will sleep better. But really, having my baby close by is so convenient! When he wakes up to eat at 12:30am (which is a new development since our family was in town for his blessing), I would so rather roll out of bed, pick him up out of his bed, and roll back into bed. Putting him in his own bed leads to this:
hear him on the monitor
rolling out of bed
stumbling down the hall to his bedroom
getting him out of bed
changing his diaper
bringing him back to my bed so I can watch a show while I feed him
cuddling with him while he (and I) fall back to sleep
eventually (if I feel like it) take him back to his own bed

Some questions to consider whether or not you should transition your little one:
How big is your sweet little one? About 13 pounds
- Most bassinets can hold about 15 pounds
Can your little guy roll over? Nope, not yet.
- Bassinets are much shallower than a crib therefor if they can roll over it is more dangerous for them to sleep in a bassinett
How old is your little one? 3 months
- Pediatricians recommend transitioning them to the crib around 3 or 4 months and no later than 6 months.
Is your baby snoozing for longer periods of time at night? Now he is. We got him back on track to where he is sleeping longer again.
- If they are starting to sleep 5 or 6 hours then you may not need them by your bed anymore.
Does your little one look cramped or uncomfortable? Ok, ok, he is looking a little big for the bassinet.
- If his feet or head keep hitting the sides or he wakes up suddenly or often, it's probably time to move him.
Are you ready to get your bedroom back? I'm not sure. I don't know if I want him to leave or not.
- This is a personal preference but you are probably more aware of all of their noises and they of yours. They may be interrupting your sleep too. Then it is a good time to move them.
