2013 wrap up

2013 was a big year for our little family. Let's start with the end of 2012 when Adam received a new job offer and we moved from our beloved charlotte, North Carolina to sandy, Utah.

Adam and I were so excited to be closer to some of our family and begin a new adventure. The day after we found out I was pregnant, Adam's new company told him that instead of working in Salt Lake City, he would be working in some tiny town out in the middle of nowhere Nevada. They told him that they would transfer him down to Salt Lake City as soon as they could. We had already made housing arrangements and I already had job arrangements. It was very frustrating to say the least. After lots of thought and prayer we decided I needed to stay in Utah while he worked in Nevada during the week. He tried his hardest to come to Utah on the weekends but it didn't always happen.

With all of that going on, we began the year with announcing an addition to our family who would be born in august! We were so scared but so incredibly excited to begin our family.

Living in Utah was awful without Adam, but on the plus side I was closer to Lindsay and we were able to visit each other several times before we moved!

In April, I celebrated my 24th birthday as well as our 2nd anniversary! Adam also received another job offer that was going to make it possible for us to live together. Imagine that! Being a married couple and actually living together! We decided to take this new job the same day Adam found out the company he was with at the time was actually never going to send him to salt lake. Hensel phelps' job offer was a huge blessing to say the least!

The end of April we moved down here to chandler, Arizona. This has been a really good move for us! Adam loves the company he's with and the people he works with and for, we love our ward, and we absolutely love Arizona (besides July and august when it gets to 115 degrees).

I was able to visit my family in June for my sisters' graduation!

On august 5th, we welcomed our sweet baby boy into the world. He has been our pride and joy. We live him to pieces and love watching him learn and grow. Becoming a parent has been amazing! I always knew I wanted kids but after having daxton, the love for your child is overwhelming.

We enjoyed our thanksgiving in Las Vegas with most of Adam's siblings. It was so much fun to be able to spend more time with them!

Our Christmas this year was extremely laid back. It was Daxton's first Christmas so we took in every minute. We let him try to unwrap some presents and play with his new toys. He loved it but I can't wait until he understands a little more what is going on, or how to unwrap presents. It was also the first Christmas we spent with none of our family around which was really weird. But we made it work with FaceTime!

We are looking forward to 2014 and what it will bring for us. We have been in Arizona for the second longest time (Charlotte being first at a year and a half) at 8 months. We are hoping we can stay in the area for a while longer so we don't move a fourth time within 2 years. We are excited for all of our learning experiences we have to look forward to this year and our growth together as a family and individually.
