The first time we left Daxton

We have been lucky enough to see my family every month since April! And TA-da! We got to go again last week! We were able to go to Oregon for the Fourth of July weekend and hang out with my whole family!! Lindsay was able to make it for the weekend too, so it was the first time since Christmas of 2012 that we have all been together because Adam was actually able to come this time! The reason we went is because we were able to work it out with Adams company where we took Daxton to my parents so they could keep him while we went house hunting, because one time was enough for him.

So we arrived Thursday night, late. Friday we just relaxed and I hung out with my sisters until we left for our Fourth of July celebration. We went up to Washington to a good family friends house where we ate delicious food that he made and got to catch up with old friends! It was so much fun! When it started to get dark, we all wandered to the front yard so we could watch their entire neighborhood light way better fireworks than we could find in Oregon!

He loves watermelon!

He probably ate 3 or 4 pieces of watermelon that day!

Our 5th Fourth of July together

Saturday we were able to go to Hagg lake! It was so much fun just to be outside for the day. We didn't take too many pictures there because of the sand, dirt, and water. But we got our own little be beachy cove and the whole family was able to come!

Dax was too afraid to go inside the tree

Sunday was so fun because I got to introduce Daxton to a ton of people who I grew up with! Last time I was in Oregon, I was 7 months pregnant, so now I had an 11 month old to show off!

Monday was the day we had to leave Daxton, so we spent the morning loving on him and packing. We took Adam to my favorite sushi place before we headed to the airport because I had to show him that sushi was actually delicious!! Then we arrived at the airport and had to say goodbye to our little guy for three days. It was really hard to leave him, but while we were house hunting we just kept saying how it was so good that we didn't have Daxton with us.

Tuesday, We were in the car all day going from house to house and Daxton would have hated it. So as much as we missed him, it was actually really good we didn't have him with us. We found a couple houses that we really liked but we didn't know how good the areas were. We headed out to go look at another house, which happened to be a really old house. The real estate agent who met us up to show us the house happened to have been a police dispatcher for 25 years in that area. She knew we probably weren't interested in the house she was showing us and asked us what other homes we were looking at. She went through our list of houses with us and told us which ones were in good areas and which we should stay away from. Apparently we were looking at terrible areas because she crossed out 5 out of the 7 houses. It sucked having her tell us that all these homes we liked weren't in good areas, but it made our decision much easier and it was great to have that knowledge!

We got tons of snap chats while we were gone

So Wednesday we went to the landlord of the house we wanted, filled out an application and then just had to wait so see if we got approved. He told us he wouldn't know until tomorrow, so we decided instead of waiting around town, we would head to San Francisco! We went with some friends from here in Arizona actually! They are moving to an area about an hour away from us, and they had just found a house too! So we drove out to explore the city! The streets of that city are crazy steep! It was freaking me out just to be in the passenger seat, I can't imagine how Adam was feeling while he was DRIVING! But we mostly drove around to see some of the sights. We drove out to the bridge, we drove down Lombard street twice, and we drove past china town. San Francisco is a cool city, but definitely not somewhere I'd like to live.

Thursday was the day we were waiting for. We were waiting to get that call from the landlord saying we were approved and nobody else had rented it before us! We actually ended up calling him, but either way he gave us the great news!! We found an awesome three bedroom house in a fabulous area! We are so excited about it! The house is down in Turlock, not in Moesto, and we think it's going to be a great place for our family! It's not a far drive for Adam to work, we are surrounded by elementary schools and a university, and our church building is so close!

We finally have a house!

That night we got to fly back to Oregon to get our baby!! It was so good to see him again and to know that we didn't need to stress out about still trying to find a house.
Friday, my parents went to the zoo with us! We were really excited to take Dax to see the animals. Sadly, a lot of the animals were inside, but we did get to see a lot of monkeys! Daxton loved them! It was super hot and later in the day when we went, so we should have known the animals weren't gonna be out.

Saturday, I talked my family into going to the beach!! It's been a while since I've been to the Oregon coast and Daxton had never been able to sit and play in sand before, so I was really excited! It was a little colder than the weather said, but we were prepared for it. We went Tilamook first and then on to ocean side. We didn't stay in the beach for too long, a could hours maybe, then we decided to go eat at camp 18 on our way home! Their clam chowder was delicious!

Sunday, sadly, was the day we had to pack up and fly home. We had so much fun on our much needed vacation! It was such a long vacation for us that coming home and getting back into the swing of things was a little difficult. But we were so glad we were able to spend that much time with my family and especially find a house while we were there!!
