Being one of them

So the picture I posted last time was from a very fun night! Adam and I were asked to be chaperones at our youth dance two weeks ago. We got there and we asked to make it very clear that we were adult chaperones and not one of the youth. Some of the older adults there thought we were, and thought if we didnt make it clear we might get asked to dance by one of them. haha At first we were being all adultish and watching the people that, let's face it, are only four or five years younger than me. Then we decided that was so boring and started dancing like I danced when I went to these dances! We had a blast! I am one of the worst dancers ever. Thankgoodness Adam is the complete opposite. He was teaching me some dances, which was a little embarassing when all of my young women were watching. But it was so fun! We danced our hearts out and had a blast with the kids that were there. It was amazing to just kick back and relax and maybe act pretty crazy with the love of my life!
We get to do this again this weekend... except not with the youth. It's a very adult, black and white tie, work Christmas party. I'm super excited to get all dressed up and to dance with Adam again!

Thankful

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and we were busy busy all day long! We went and spent the day with Adams family, played games, and watched a movie. It was a great day with great people! This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my wonderful husband who I love more than anything. My amazing family (wish I could be in Oregon with them), I miss them so much it's crazy. The great friends I have made throughout the years. The gospel. Our warm apartment and the fact that it is still warm here! Also for the fact that it is supposed to be 70 tomorrow and I suprised Adam with an early Christmas present and am taking him to the NC State football game tomorrow! It will be a fabulous weekend with my man! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and goodluck black friday shopping!!

More details on the picture later!

A little craving

So today I have been having a little craving to go look at puppies. Weird. I know. But we aren't ready to have kids yet, but a dog, now that we can do! Adam said he always heard that as a couple you are suppsed to get a dog before you have kids. He says that it helps you begin to prepare to take care of kids.
Ok babe, whatever you say! Here are some of the pups I think would be great to get:

C'mon, you could teach him to play football
I know you wouldn't like this one, you would say that it looks like a rat. But I think she's adorable!
So stinkin cute! I want one!
This one is my favorite! Isn't she just precious!? I think so.

So while we are out on our date tonight, would you mind if we swung by a few pet stores so you could fall in love with some too? Ok thanks!

Love,
The girl you fell in love with

A little different Thanksgiving...

I know this is early, but this year is different. We are spending Thanksgiving with Adam's family (extended and all). But let's face it, their family does Thanksgiving a little different than I am used to.
This is what I am used to:
Sleeping in 'til as late as I want
Eating the most delicious breakfast my mom makes on holidays (Cinnamon rolls, eggs and sausage, and orange juice)
Staying in sweats (or pjs) all day
Playing games and laughing hysterically with the fam
Eating so much food for Thanksgiving dinner that all you can do is roll around the house
Watching movies that may or may not have to do with Christmas

This Thanksgiving I will not have the luxury of sleeping in, staying in my pjs, or seeing my siblings. We get to spend it with Adam's family! We have to drive two hours to get to his aunts house. We are eating Thanksgiving lunch, not dinner. We also actually have to get dressed up. Dang. So because I have my new family to kind of impress (I'm already in the family so there is nothing they can do about it), I have been looking at different outfits that I could sport on this wonderful holiday:
Pinned ImageFall Outfit to TryFall outfit ideaso, I need all of this.cute What color is that cardigan? Rose? Whatever it is, i love it.

There are so many more outfits that I could look at (thank you pinterest!), but I think I can put together something from my closet.

A Not So Scary Halloween

This Halloween was different than the ones that Adam and I have had in the past four years of our lives. Normally we are surrounded by college students with more parties than we can attend and procrastinating homework until the very last possible second. Also, as college students, we recieved tons no children knocking at our door. Ok well we didn't get any kids knocking on our door this year either because we live in an apartment complex where you need a key fob to get in the main door and then every door after that as well.
We attended our ward trunk-or-treat and handed out candy to little kids as they went around one time, and then a second time, and then we were the mean adults who turned them away the third time around. But it was fun to be with families for Halloween. Even if it was only for an hour. We were going to head to another party afterwards, but we decided not to. The best part about being a couple with little to no obligation to be places is that we can chose at that moment whether or not we want to attend. Probably not the best thing, but it's what we do. We have been trying to spend more time together since we get zero time during the week, so we decided to head home and hang out together.
We dressed up at Clark Kent and Lois Lane. We couldn't find glasses so this is what you got!

Adam had a tie on before we took these pictures, but he was so anxious to get out of his costume that he took it off before I could snap a picture. I made his superman shirt, which I am very proud of, not that it was too difficult.
Then for Halloween night, we made caramel popcorn (which was delicious) and watch and scary Halloween movie, Scooby-Doo! We discovered last night that I don't do well with scary movies any more. maybe it's because I am with out Adam for a lot of the time, he goes to sleep with out me, or maybe it's just because I would rather watch a goofy movie that has a little something to do with ghosts than be scared out of my mind. Kind of pathetic, I know. But that's me!
Needless to say, our Halloween was quiet, but fun. Maybe next year we'll have a place where we can carve pumpkins and display them!
