The Visit From Most of My Siblings

A couple of weeks ago, we were lucky enough to have my twin sisters and brother come visit us down here in California! We were super bummed Lindsay and my parents couldn't be there, but we still had tons of fun!

They arrived late Tuesday night, so Wednesday was pretty laid back. We went shopping for the majority of the day and then I had to leave to pick up Adam at the airport in Oakland.

Thursday we went and checked out one of the lakes near our house, Turlock Lake. It was a Thursday so there was basically nobody else there! It was a great lake for Daxton because it was really shallow for the first several feet so he could just sit and play in the mud and water! The water was a little chilly but after sitting in the blazing sun, it felt great! We played some catch in the deeper water, scraped up the bottom of our feet, and got a little sun burnt! That's what I call a good time!

Friday, Adam still had to work so we headed out to San Francisco because Adam had been there already. It was way busier this time than when Adam and I went. We started out by hitting the Golden Gate bridge and every view of it! I think Cody was done by the third picture, but he kept trucking along with us. Then we headed over to the Fisherman's Warf and Pier 39. We explored pretty much every square inch of that place! I was too nervous to drive up to Lombard Street, which I felt really bad about because Adam drove us up there the last time and it was awesome to see! But I did not feel comfortable driving up to the Crooked Street, let along driving down it! Next time family, next time. After all the walking and site seeing, everyone was pooped so we headed home.

Saturday, we actually had Adam all to ourselves! So we headed to the beach! The one we went to was called Carmel by the Sea, just south of Monterey. It was really nice when we first got there, but the clouds rolled in pretty fast. Good thing we all had sweatshirts! Daxton got his first taste (literally) of the California beaches. He loved running into the waves and then scream when they hit him, but there was one that swooped him up and rolled him all over the place. I thought he was going to hate the ocean after that, but after he finished crying he ran straight back to the water. That boy will never learn.

There were 4 dolphins swimming super close to shore!

Sunday they had to head back home for work on Monday. It was so sad to see them leave, but we loved having them here! You can come back anytime!
